Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, health care science or related field.
• Or an Associate's degree in histotechnology or health-related science including histology courses.
• Or high school diploma with two years on-the-job histologic technique training.

Responsibilities

• Process all specimens received in the Histology laboratory under minimal supervision.
• Prepare and Histological processing of surgical pathology specimens for pathologist review and diagnosis.
• Apply independent judgment in selection of methodologies and solv e routine problems.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, health care science

Associate's degree in histotechnology or health related science

Certificate program in histologic techniques

High school diploma with two years on-the-job histologic training
