Job summary

Lexington Health in Columbia, SC, seeks an Anatomic Pathology technician for a full-time day shift (4-12:30). Preparation of slides from tissue and other specimens for pathologist review is required, along with embedding, sectioning, staining, and immunohistochemistry duties.

The role supports accurate diagnostics in a busy lab environment. Minimum education includes a high school diploma, plus at least one year of full-time histopathology lab experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year full-time experience in accredited histopathology lab.

Responsibilities

• Prepare slides from tissue and other specimens for pathologist examination.
• Embed tissues in paraffin and orient specimens correctly.
• Cut paraffin blocks and tissue slides, and perform staining.
• Process cell blocks and prepare slides for immunohistochemistry.
• Maintain records, inventories, and instrument care per protocols.
• Adhere to safety procedures and hospital policies.
