Job summary

Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a full-time Histology Technician focused on immunohistochemistry. Duties include processing surgical pathology specimens, preparing paraffin blocks, staining, and quality assessment under CAP guidelines.

Qualifications include a NAACLS-accredited histology degree or HT credentials with relevant experience, plus strong Microsoft Office skills. Prior ASCP registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Histology or HT credential with 3 years' experience or 5 years including special stains and Immunohistochemistry.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Responsibilities

• Process immunohistochemical staining daily using approved automated stainers following CAP guidelines.
• Validate and optimize antibodies and procedures per lab policy and CAP guidelines.
• Maintain quality control and documentation for all antibodies, controls, and staining runs.
• Prepare cases for pathologists' review and maintain extensive slide/block files.
• Communicate with supervisor on policy, delays, or quality concerns.
