Job summary

Caris Life Sciences is seeking a Histology Technologist I to assist pathology professionals with immunohistochemistry, specimen processing, embedding, slide preparation, microtomy, and other high‑complexity procedures in the laboratory. This role operates under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to achieve accurate results.

Responsibilities include routine histology tasks, high‑complexity testing, specimen labeling integrity, and diligent documentation in LIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a chemical/biological/clinical or medical lab field.
• ABHES/CAAHEP accredited training or equivalent clinical laboratory experience.
• Experience with high-complexity testing and histology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine histology tasks: embedding, cutting, H&E staining, cover slipping.
• Carry out high-complexity testing: grossing, processing, IHC staining with automated systems.
• Maintain specimen labeling accuracy and LIS documentation per SOPs.
• Ensure equipment is operational; report maintenance needs promptly.
• Document results and training activities in laboratory logs and LIS.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and ensure timely, quality results.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemical/biological/clinical or medical laboratory science

Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

60 semester hours with required science coursework

Completion of ABHES/CAAHEP-approved clinical laboratory training program
