Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Histology Technician program or 60 college credits with 24 science credits including biology and chemistry.
• Histology certification through ASCP or equivalent must be maintained throughout employment.
• Ability to apply age-appropriate care and safety protocols in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the grossing area and maintain aseptic techniques and safety.
• Process, embed, and section tissues for slides; operate LIS and resolve discrepancies.
• Perform routine stains and immunohistochemistry with quality control procedures.
• Assist pathologists with specimen handling and training of department trainees.
