Carle Health is seeking a Histology Technician to prepare slides, embed tissues, and perform staining for pathologists. Work includes accessioning, gross dissection support, and LIS data entry in a busy pathology lab.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 semester hours (including 12+ hours in biology/chem) from an accredited college.
• NAACLS-accredited histotechnician program or 1 year of clinical lab experience.

Responsabilités

• Prepare slides of body tissues for pathologists.
• Assist with gross dissection and tissue processing.
• Perform embedding, microtomy, staining, cover slipping and frozen sections.
• Log and accession specimens in AP LIS system and coordinate with Pathologist's Assistants.
