Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Histology Technician to process and prepare pathology specimens for diagnostic review. You will assist grossing, operate staining equipment, and ensure accurate labeling and documentation.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to CAP/JCAHO/OSHA standards. AASCP certification is required and a $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher with 3+ years of histology experience.
• HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare pathology specimens for slide review.
• Assist grossing area and ensure proper specimen identification.
• Operate and maintain histology equipment per guidelines.
• Prepare slides, stains, and immunohistochemistry as needed.
• Document specimens and materials; ensure QA and safety protocols.
