Job summary

Precipio, Inc. in New Haven, CT is seeking a skilled Histotechnician to join our laboratory team full time, Tuesday through Saturday. You will prepare high-quality histological slides for microscopic evaluation by our pathologists.

Duties include processing, embedding, cutting and staining, maintaining equipment, performing quality control, documenting logs for CAP/CLIA, and handling hazardous waste. Requires associate or bachelor’s degree; HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) preferred; 2+ years histology

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
• HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification preferred (or eligible).
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in a clinical or research histology laboratory.
• Strong hand-eye coordination, ability to work independently, and basic computer proficiency for lab tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Processing, embedding, cutting and staining of Hematopathology Specimens.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control checks and document maintenance logs accurately to meet regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA).
• Handle hazardous chemicals safely and manage laboratory waste disposal procedures.
• Assisting in daily case intake as scheduled by Manager Inventory up-keep.
