Job summary

Natera is seeking a Histology Technician to perform tissue preparation for histology workflows supporting tissue whole exome/genome sequencing. The role requires attention to detail and ability to work with precision in a fast-paced lab.

You will prepare slides, assist in validations, monitor case management, and contribute to SOP updates. A relevant degree and HT (ASCP) certification are required; the position may include supervisory duties based on experience.

Qualifications

• Requires associate or higher in histotechnician or a related science with histology experience.
• HT (ASCP) certification required or equivalent.
• 1–2 years in histology within the past 5 years or training in histotechnician program.

Responsibilities

• Perform histological preparations for tissue sequencing workflows.
• Prepare tissues, stained slides, macrodissection, and support workflow tasks.
• Independently perform testing, reagent and equipment preparation after training.
• Participate in validations and reagent qualifications.
• Monitor and manage cases to meet departmental turnaround time goals; investigate issues.
• Support EH&S initiatives and safety audits; update SOPs as needed.
• May supervise and provide competency training based on education/experience.
• Document corrective actions for deviations and escalate when needed.
• Provide overview guidance to new team members and daily lab operations.
