Job summary

HCA Healthcare Lab Services is seeking a Histology Supervisor to oversee the preparation and processing of specimens for gross and microscopic examination by a pathologist in the Lenexa, Kansas area. This role ensures accurate sample identification, rigorous quality control, and compliance with CAP, JCAHO, CUA, FDA and CMS standards, collaborating with pathologists and the care team.

You will supervise daily laboratory operations, manage staff, coordinate training and performance reviews,

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry required.
• National Certification as a Medical or Histology Technologist required.
• 3 years of experience as a Histology Technologist required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day laboratory operations to meet regulatory requirements.
• Oversee staff hiring, orientation, training and competency assessments.
• Provide performance feedback and coaching to ensure staff performance.
• Ensure staff conduct and adherence to department policies.
• Support accreditation readiness and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with CAP, JCAHO, CUA, FDA and CMS standards.
