Job summary

Mosaic Life Care is seeking a Histology Lead to oversee the histology department under the Laboratory Director. You will evaluate staff performance, ensure CAP compliance, train new caregivers, and develop procedures.

The role requires hands-on microtomy, staining, documentation, QC review, and monitoring QA programs. You will collaborate with pathologists and the director to set department goals, manage instruments, and ensure excellent customer service across internal and external

Qualifications

• 2 Years - histology laboratory experience - Required
• Training orientation will be up to eight weeks. - Required
• management experience preferred - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Resource person for laboratory staff, physician, nurses, office personnel and internal/external customers. Investigate and resolve issues; keep department CAP compliant.
• Recognizes instrument issues, malfunction and takes appropriate action.
• Trains/orients new hires, evaluating their performance and competency.
• Evaluates new stains and writes/maintains policies and procedures to keep current for the department.
• Prepare and maintain the quality of Histology and cytology stains and reagents.
• Inventory, order, and stock supplies; clean pathology grossing areas, frozen section rooms, histology area; maintain equipment.
