Job summary

Allied Digestive Health is seeking a Full-Time Laboratory Aide at our NY Pathology Lab in Pearl River, NY. The role supports the Lab with clerical duties and prepares equipment for patient output, including embedding blocks and reviewing work quality before pathology submission.

Responsibilities include QA/QC for equipment, staining preparation, staining processes, and maintaining logs. The position requires attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of previous lab experience is preferred.
• Willingness to work shift work and overtime is required.
• Could be required to work during Weekends/Evenings/Holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supports Histology staff with clerical and ancillary functions.
• Embeds, stains, qcing, filing, cleaning, etc.
• Ensures daily tasks are completed accurately.
• Maintains QA/QC charts for all Lab equipment.
• Prepares solutions for H&E staining and runs stains.
• Handles stains and prepares slides for processing.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Logs information in Lab logbooks and forms.
• Performs QC of specimens and verifies case numbers.
• Maintains and sterilises laboratory equipment and glassware.
• Manages supplies and inventory; submits purchase requests.
• Identifies problems affecting test performance and notifies manager.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and OSHA policies.
• Follows Lab SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
