Job summary

US Biolab seeks an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to manage the Histology & Molecular laboratory in Germantown, MD. The role emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, and ensuring high-quality slide preparation with strong IHC capabilities.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience in a research or clinical lab, extensive histology and IHC expertise, and familiarity with GLP and FDA regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a histology/molecular lab.
• Extensive hands-on histology including tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining.
• Strong hands-on IHC experience including assay setup and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day histology operations, ensure compliance with regulations.
• Supervise staff, conduct evaluations and development.
• Monitor workflow, troubleshoot quality issues, and optimize processes.
• Ensure quality tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and H&E/IHC staining.
• Oversee IHC workflows, antibody validation, protocol standardization, QC.
• Maintain and update SOPs including IHC protocols.
• Train staff in histology and IHC techniques and instrumentation.
• Manage inventory of IHC reagents, antibodies, and controls.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding; support R&D and assay validation.
• Provide bench support as needed.
