Job summary

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is seeking a motivated Histology Grossing Technician to join the Operating Room Pathology lab. The role entails receipt, gross examination, dissection, photography and processing of tissue specimens in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree in Biological Science and ~2 years of grossing experience; HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) is preferred. Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with no weekends or on-call. Winston-Salem, NC.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Biological Science required.
• Two years' grossing experience preferred.
• HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen grossing, including photography and preparation of related surgical pathology reports.
• Accession surgical pathology specimens and assist in QA.
• Maintain and update the gross specimen handbook and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with pathologists and hospital staff to ensure quality care.
