Qualifications

• High School diploma and 2+ years of related experience.
• Visual acuity and above average dexterity.
• Capable of a moderate amount of walking, standing, and/or sitting.
• Ability to lift or carry no more than 20 pounds or push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language.

Responsibilities

• Accessions specimens brought into the laboratory for processing.
• Assists pathologists with grossing in specimens.
• Loading, changing, cleaning and troubleshooting histology processors.
• Decalcification of bone specimens.
• Cover slipping and routine H&E staining.
• Embeddings and Microtomy.
• Quality control within predetermined limits.
• Organizes work to maximize productivity.
• Maintain a safe working environment and comply with policies and procedures.
