Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a board-certified/eligible OB/GYN to provide comprehensive women’s health care in California. You will perform OB services at the hospital and GYN for surgery and office, with routine gynecologic procedures and routine preventative screenings.

Applicants must hold an MD or DO, CA license, and BLS, with strong clinical and communication skills; bilingual abilities in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish are a plus.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN.
  • Active California medical license or ability to obtain.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical and communication skills.
  • Experience with community health or underserved populations preferred.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive gynecologic and women’s health services.
  • Conduct patient evaluations including medical history, physical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Perform OB services at the hospital and GYN for surgery and office.
  • Perform routine gynecologic procedures and screenings (Pap smears, IUD insertions/removals, Nexplanon).
  • Diagnose and manage gynecologic conditions and disorders.
  • Order, interpret, and explain laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide patient counseling on preventive health, reproductive health, and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the EHR system.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Serve in rotational on-call coverage as required.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to support patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
