Job Title: Assembler Job Description

This role focuses on performing mechanical assemblies to build lawn care equipment, specifically blower units, from start to finish. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to complete full product assemblies, working from blueprints and schematics. Depending on the assembly department, you may build multiple units per day or complete more complex assemblies over several days, working either independently on sub-assemblies or in small teams on full assemblies.

Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical assembly of blower units and other lawn care equipment from start to finish.

  • Use hand and power tools, including power drills, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, and basic hand tools, to complete assemblies safely and accurately.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand assembly steps and component placement.

  • Complete sub-assemblies independently or full assemblies in two-person teams, as assigned.

  • Meet production expectations, which may range from approximately 15 units per day in some departments to 1 unit every 23 days for more complex builds.

  • Follow established work instructions and quality standards to ensure each unit meets performance and safety requirements.

  • Maintain excellent attendance and reliability to support consistent production schedules.

  • Work efficiently and stay focused on tasks, minimizing personal distractions such as cell phone use while on the production floor.

  • Collaborate with trainers, partners, and supervisors during training and daily work to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.

  • Adapt to changing workload demands, working at a steady pace during slower periods and increasing output when urgent orders require quick turnaround.

  • Keep the work area organized and safe, handling tools and equipment properly and following shop guidelines.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and accept coaching during training.

  • Strong communication skills for coordinating work with partners and supervisors.

Why Work Here?

Employees benefit from a supportive environment that values work‑life balance, with a four‑day primary workweek and typically optional partial Fridays. The organization offers strong benefits and paid time off, along with access to a dedicated health app at no cost, providing video and chat access to therapists and primary‑care‑style support. This culture combines a laid‑back, medium‑size shop atmosphere with pride in craftsmanship and responsiveness to customer needs, giving team members both stability and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the final product.

Work Environment

The role is based in a fairly laid‑back, medium‑size, climate‑controlled shop that is not noisy or overly loud. The production floor is full of product yet organized so people have enough room to work comfortably. You will build blower units alongside two other team members and may work alone or with a partner to complete assemblies. During training, a trainer will work closely with you to help you learn the processes and tools. The schedule is a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Work on Fridays is typically optional, with very rare mandatory time, and then only for a partial day until approximately 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The supervisory style is mellow and straightforward, with an expectation that employees remain focused on their work and avoid using cell phones while on the floor. The environment supports steady, consistent work, with periods that may be more relaxed and other times when quick turnaround is needed to crank out machines.
