Job summary

Aerotek in San Diego is hiring entry level Inspectors for quality checks in a clean-room manufacturing environment. You will perform visual and dimensional inspections on parts and products, using microscopes, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools, and record results in Excel and quality systems.

This contract-to-hire role is 2nd shift, pays $18.50-19.50 per hour, requires a high school diploma, and offers benefits after eligibility along with on-site work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry level – 1 year manufacturing or quality inspection preferred.
• Experience with microscopes, calipers, micrometers, and inspection equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Basic Microsoft Excel and data entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive inspections.
• Exposure to clean-room/semiconductor environments preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Inspector 2 is responsible for performing detailed visual and dimensional inspections on parts and products to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves using tools such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment in a clean-room manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished products for quality and compliance.

• Working under a microscope for 8 hours per day.

• Perform visual inspections and dimensional measurements using precision tools.

• Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and mechanical drawings.

• Record inspection results accurately in Excel and quality systems.

• Identify and isolate non-conforming products.

• Support audit activities, 5S initiatives, and safety programs.

• Assist with specialized inspection processes, including FPI as needed.

• Cross-train in quality and packaging functions and support team training.

Work Environment:

Clean-room, micro-electronics manufacturing setting requiring the use of inspection tools, handling small components, and following strict quality and contamination control procedures. Standing or sitting for extended periods may be required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $19.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
