Job summary

Senior Helpers of West Cuyahoga & Lorain Counties is seeking compassionate caregivers to help seniors live safely, independently, and comfortably in their own homes. You will provide personalized care, companionship, meal assistance, and light housekeeping while maintaining dignity and comfort for clients.

No prior caregiving experience is required—training is provided, with support from a dedicated office team and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality traits.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Reliable transportation preferred and ability to pass background/motor vehicle/drug screenings.
• Experience in caregiving is a plus but we train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
• Support mobility, transfers, and fall prevention.
• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation to clients.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks.
• Offer medication reminders to clients.
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition.
• Document care provided accurately and timely.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Helpers Caregiver, you'll provide personalized care that helps our clients maintain their independence. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Helping with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention
• Providing companionship and meaningful conversation
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when needed
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry
• Offering medication reminders
• Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition
• Accurately documenting care provided
• Communicating with clients, families, and our office team
• Accompanying clients to appointments or running errands as needed

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• Reliable transportation (valid driver's license preferred)
• Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screening
• Caregiving experience is preferred but not required—we'll train the right person
• Experience with Dementia or Parkinson's care is a plus
