Job summary

Senior Helpers of West Cuyahoga & Lorain Counties is seeking compassionate caregivers to help seniors stay independent at home. You will provide personalized care, assist with daily activities, and ensure safety and comfort in clients' homes.

Training is provided, with a supportive team and opportunities to grow. A reliable schedule, respectful communication, and dedication to quality care are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Caregiving experience preferred but not required; training provided.
• Must be reliable and punctual with excellent attendance.
• Willingness to pass background and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Aid mobility, transfers, and fall prevention.
• Provide companionship and meaningful conversation.
• Meal preparation and feeding assistance as needed.
• Light housekeeping and laundry.
• Offer medication reminders and document care.
• Report changes in client condition to family and office.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Helpers Caregiver, you'll provide personalized care that helps our clients maintain their independence. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Helping with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention
• Providing companionship and meaningful conversation
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when needed
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry
• Offering medication reminders
• Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition
• Accurately documenting care provided
• Communicating with clients, families, and our office team
• Accompanying clients to appointments or running errands as needed

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• Reliable transportation (valid driver's license preferred)
• Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screening
• Caregiving experience is preferred but not required—we'll train the right person
• Experience with Dementia or Parkinson's care is a plus
