Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a release of information setting in a hospital Health Information Management department or large outpatient clinic operation required.
• Must have a valid Texas Drivers license in good standing.
• Proficiency with EMR and Electronic Document Management Systems; Epic experience preferred.
• Dependable with excellent attendance.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Goal-oriented, energetic, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and understanding of health record concepts, privacy laws, and subpoena requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process requests for release of protected health information (PHI) in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information and ensure accurate record-keeping and audit trails.
• Demonstrate prompt, courteous service and positive customer relations.
• Utilize EMR and EDMS tools to manage release of information workflow.
• Coordinate with departments and respond to inquiries while prioritizing tasks.
