Job summary

Southern Oklahoma Pain Management is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team. You will be the welcoming face of the clinic, handling patient check-in, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

In this role you will support clinical staff, manage patient records in the EHR/EMR system, collect co-pays, and communicate effectively with patients and providers in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a medical front office or healthcare administrative role preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and insurance verification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; medical office certification a plus.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner.
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using practice management software.
• Answer and route incoming phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service.
• Maintain and update accurate patient demographic and medical records.
• Coordinate referrals and communicate with other healthcare providers as needed.
• Manage front desk administrative tasks including filing, faxing, and correspondence.
• Collect payments and perform medical collections to support the clinic's revenue cycle management.
