Kindred Hospital Dayton and Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) seeks a health information professional to sustain HIM integrity through meticulous medical record content, abstracting, analysis, and secure handling of protected health information. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance and cross‑department collaboration.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and an associate HIM degree is preferred; RHIT certification is a plus.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in health information technology preferred, or enrollment in a college/university HIM program accepted.
• RHIT certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble, analyze, abstract, scan, and maintain medical records to ensure verifiable documentation.
• Work with hospital staff, physicians, and administration to ensure timely, accurate, complete medical records per policy and bylaws.
• Respond to requests per HIPAA guidelines from physicians, staff, and outside entities regarding protected health information.
• Demonstrate proficiency with dictation and transcription systems.
• Maintain record indexes and storage/retrieval systems.
• Assist with supplies to meet department budget requirements.
• Exhibit strong oral and written communication with staff and patients.
