Job summary

Kindred Hospital Las Vegas – Flamingo and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) seeks a Health Information Management professional to maintain HIM integrity through medical record knowledge, abstraction, and analysis.

You will work with hospital staff and physicians to ensure timely, accurate record completion and HIPAA compliance, while handling transcription and indexing tasks in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in health information technology preferred, or enrollment in HIM program accepted.
• RHIT certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year HIM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, analyze, abstract, scan, and maintain medical records.
• Ensure records are completed timely, accurately, and in accordance with hospital policy and staff bylaws.
• Respond to requests per HIPAA guidelines regarding protected health information.
• Demonstrate proficiency with dictation and transcription systems.
• Maintain record indexes and storage/retrieval systems.
• Ensure supplies meet department and budget needs.
• Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and administration.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient/employee information.
