Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year/associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of equivalent work experience in HIM or RHIT/RHIA in lieu of experience.
• RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Strong analytical and customer service skills; HIPAA knowledge essential.
• Ability to multitask and meet productivity metrics in a computer-based workflow.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor information management standards for patient records.
• Support HIM workflows: record pulling, scanning, indexing, and off-site vendor coordination.
• Handle release of information requests and subpoenas; travel between locations as needed.
• Serve as birth/death registrar when assigned and provide customer service to HIM department callers.
