Job summary

Refuah Health Center is seeking a dedicated Health Records Clerk to manage medical records, respond to patient and provider queries, and support compliant documentation workflows. The role involves organizing, scanning, and filing records across multiple sites in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree (preferred) with strong MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills, excellent communication, and a reliable, detail-oriented work ethic to help maintain privacy

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred; experience in a medical practice setting preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to multitask in a busy health records environment.

Responsibilities

• Responds to health records related phone calls and retrieves correspondence by fax, email, or mail.
• Assist patients with release forms to send/receive their medical records.
• Process STAT requests and follow through to completion.
• Scan records into patient charts and complete special projects as needed.
• Complies with organizational policies and supports the Compliance Program.
• Handle tax letters and insurance audit requests; maintain confidentiality.

Job description

Job Summary:Has access to patient health information, including medical records, test results, and treatment plans. Is responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records of patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the health care system. This helps the patient and center receive information necessary to move forward with their care.Duties and Responsibilities:Responds to health records related phone calls.Retrieve correspondence from medical records fax, email, or mail and distribute as appropriate.Assist patients with release forms to send/receive their medical records.Response to STAT requests with appropriate follow through.Tax LettersInsurance audits/Heidis requests.Answers/deals with Telephone encounters in a timely manner.Retrieve high priority requests.Scan records into appropriate patient charts.Complete special projects.Complies with applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program.Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required.Job Requirements:Associates Degree preferred; Experience in a medical practice setting preferred, but not necessaryFamiliarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; Demonstrated reliability; Ability to multitaskAttention to detail; Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsWho We Are:Refuah Health Center is a thriving, state-of-the-art Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with three sites, twenty-nine departments and more than two hundred medical professionals!
