Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Coordinator for Health Information Management (HIM) to manage HIM operations and coordinate staff to ensure accurate, confidential health information. You will oversee workflows, audit data quality, and drive department projects while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

The role supports staff and stakeholders as a resource for HIM best practices, with opportunities for professional growth within a leading academic health system

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• One year of healthcare or HIM department experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staff performance to ensure adherence to HIM guidelines and compliance with regulatory, departmental, and organizational requirements.
• Maintain productivity, timeliness, and quality standards; provide training as needed.
• Conduct data quality audits and communicate results to stakeholders to drive corrective actions.
• Ensure work queues are processed timely and accurately.
• Assist with productivity reports, training materials, and documentation.
• Serve as a resource and educator to HIM staff and customers with best practices knowledge.
• Facilitate timely communication between internal and external customers to meet standards.
• Participate in department projects and assess data collection and maintenance processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
