Job summary

Duke University Health System seeks an HIM supervisor to coordinate workflows, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. You will oversee daily operations, train new staff, and maintain data quality within the HIM department.

Ideal candidates will have 6+ years in healthcare, RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong communication and organizational skills to drive efficiency and accuracy in patient information processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• RHIT or RHIA certification strongly preferred.
• Experience: 6+ years in a progressive healthcare setting is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the functional unit; supervise staff.
• Coordinate with HIM/DHTS and hospital/clinic personnel to ensure EHR integrity.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff; monitor productivity and quality targets.
