Job summary

Harboroaks is seeking a Manager (HIM) in the Sioux Falls and Canton area for our Canton facility. The role oversees daily operations of the Health Information Management department and ensures the integrity of clinical and financial data.

Responsibilities include data collection, coding oversight, audits, staff hiring and development, and collaboration with physicians to improve documentation. RHIT or RHIA and CMS HBIPS/IPFQR knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health information administration preferred.
• Two+ years’ experience supervising a medical records department.
• One+ year behavioral health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CMS IPFQR measures and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commissions HBIPS measures and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily HIM department operations and data integrity.
• Improve documentation quality with physicians and staff.
• Ensure timely and complete medical records filing and closure.
• Prepare and analyze clinical data for research and utilization management.
• Report HIM indicators to the Performance Improvement Committee.
• Ensure state reporting is accurate and timely.
• Coordinate with transcription vendor for quality and timeliness.
• Hire, develop, and manage HIM staff.
