Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Development Test Engineer for Starlink to design and build hardware-in-the-loop test systems supporting the Starlink software CI pipeline. You will develop test cases and simulations to reproduce on-orbit scenarios, enabling flight-like testing for space-grade software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software, electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering.
• 1+ years of professional test experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or aerospace engineering.
• Development experience in Python.
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly reliable hardware-in-the-loop (HIL/HITL) testbeds for the Starlink software CI system.
• Develop test cases and create simulation environments that replicate on-orbit scenarios for flight-like testing.
• Ensure all software has appropriate test coverage balancing reliability, velocity and safety.
• Pioneer strategies to scale the HITL fleet to meet growing testing demands.
• Analyze HITL test results to identify issues and prevent bugs from production.
