Job summary

HDR is seeking a Highway/Roads Engineer in Rapid City, SD. You will contribute to the design and development of urban and rural roadway projects, guiding CAD Designers and coordinating with Project Managers to advance from feasibility to construction.

You will apply experience in road interchanges, geometry, traffic management, and transportation planning, supported by a PE license and strong communication skills, in an employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, in civil engineering or related field.
• Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensure board for the position.
• Experience in roadway engineering design across urban and rural settings.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a technical role under a Project Manager on engineering development of highway/roadway projects.
• Oversee CAD Designers and possibly other EITs.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs for roadway projects.
• Participate in site feasibility, final design, and construction phases.
• Assume project management duties and client interaction as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
