Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Nebraska to join our highway/roadway design team. Work on moderate to large projects, applying local or AASHTO standards for alignment, intersections, drainage, and right-of-way plans with focus on quality and safety.

As an employee-owner, collaborate across disciplines, mentor junior staff, and manage scopes and schedules. A PE license and strong CAD skills with Bentley/Open Roads/Autodesk software are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and PE license preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Experience with highway/roadway design using AASHTO standards is essential.
• Proficiency with Bentley/Autodesk CAD software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in highway/roadway design for moderate to large projects using local or AASHTO standards.
• Prepare and oversee roadway sections, alignments, interchanges, drainage, and related plans and documents.
• Utilize 3D modeling software to develop and review designs.
• Coordinate with clients, prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules, and guide junior staff.
