Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern (Highway/Roadways) in Atlanta, GA. You will assist on planning, design, and maintenance of large-scale infrastructure projects within our Transportation team.

Under supervision, you’ll work with a multidisciplinary group to deliver design and engineering services for highways and major road networks, using CAD tools and collaborating with specialists. This role emphasizes time management, teamwork, and growth through mentorship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with transportation coursework.
• Previous design intern experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering services for highways, expressways, and major road networks.
• Preparation of right-of-way plans, roadway designs, drainage, floodplain management, and intersection improvements.
• Using CAD to prepare drawings, layouts, and models per standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, utility locates, and surveyors to meet requirements.
• Assist in providing technical and operational support across highway disciplines (stormwater, green infrastructure, utilities, structures).
