Job summary

Minnesota Department of Transportation in Minnesota is seeking an on-site roadside and roadway maintenance worker to perform maintenance, equipment service, and traffic control duties. Candidates must have a valid CDL (A or B) with no air brake restriction, obtain a tanker endorsement before hire, and secure an A license within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A or B CDL with no air brake restriction.
• Must obtain Tanker Endorsement prior to hire.
• Must obtain a Class A License within 6 months of hire.
• Veterans may be eligible for a waiver of CDL based on military experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide traffic control.
• Perform basic construction monitoring duties and basic inspection activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintains roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepares and inspects winter equipment.
• Performs preseason snow route inspection and performs post-storm cleanup.
• Performs winter stockpile setup and transfer of anti-icing and de-icing chemicals.
