Job summary

SAI Consulting Engineers, Inc. seeks a Highway/Traffic Project Engineer to support signature transportation projects across PA, working with staff in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh offices.

You will lead roadway and traffic design efforts, manage budgets and schedules, and review plans as Engineer of Record. PE license or progress toward it, along with MicroStation/OpenRoads experience, are highly valued. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–12 years of PennDOT/PTC transportation design experience.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year; PTOE preferred.
• Microstation and OpenRoads Designer experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Leading a design team in developing roadway and traffic improvements for highway and bridge projects, including coordinating design elements over multiple disciplines.
• Planning, coordinating, and monitoring project team budgets, schedules/progress, and quality.
• Reviewing and sealing plans, specifications, and estimates for contract bidding as Engineer of Record
• Completing designated assignments and reporting progress to project managers
• Mentoring, reviewing, and checking work of junior staff
• Performing field views and attending project meetings
• Participating in proposal development, project scoping, and project staffing projections
• Working collaboratively with team members, consultants, and our clients
• Attending professional organization meetings and events to build relationships and assist with business development
