The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet, invites applications for the Highway Technician Assistant I (Traffic Engineering & Permits) position in Manchester, KY. This full-time role supports traffic engineering and permitting tasks and involves operating equipment and assisting with surveys and signage installation.

Required is a high school diploma and 18+ years of age with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be 18+ years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Within 12 months, obtain Class B CDL and complete First Aid, Snow and Ice Training, Traffic Control/Flagger and OSHA 10.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump trucks with snowplow and salt spreader during Snow and Ice Season.
• Learn to install traffic signs, including sign types, spacing, placement, height.
• Flag for operations requiring traffic control.
• Learn and assist with basic surveying activities on construction projects, maintenance and repair of roadways.
• Attend required training classes.
