Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation in Allentown, PA seeks a Highway Safety & Bike-Ped Coordinator to guide key safety initiatives across the district. You will support programs protecting travelers and improving mobility, and collaborate with municipalities, legislators, and the public to drive safer highways and active transportation.

Your role leads safety and engineering coordination, with duties from risk management to project development, and involves telework

Formación

• Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate.
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty with an EIT and an associate's degree.
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree.

Responsabilidades

• Lead district and county safety efforts by organizing, tracking, and supporting transportation safety programs.
• Oversee hazard identification and other processes to reduce roadway risks.
• Evaluate crash data, review studies, and recommend improvements using established engineering tools.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for traffic engineering and safety projects.
• Respond to inquiries, conduct field reviews, and collaborate with municipalities, legislators, and the public.
• Review bicycle, pedestrian, and trail crossing projects to ensure compliance and proper design.

Educación

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology

Engineer-in-Training certificate
