Job summary

Manitowoc County is seeking a Highway Maintenance Worker to perform outdoor roadway maintenance, operate snowplows, and repair potholes and bridges. You will help keep county roads safe and maintained year-round, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and hands-on problem solving.

This full-time role offers a 4-day May–October schedule and a flexible winter layout, plus benefits such as health, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement protection, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining county roads and right-of-ways to keep travel safe and efficient.
• Operating snowplows and snow removal equipment during winter weather events.
• Mowing grass, trimming trees and brush, spraying weeds, and repairing washouts.
• Repairing potholes, filling roadway cracks, and maintaining bridges and guardrails.
• Installing and repairing posts, markers, and snow fences.
• Helping improve the appearance and safety of county roadways through general maintenance and cleanup.

Education

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) – preferred
