Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. in Buda, TX is hiring full-time Roadway Maintenance Technicians to join our outdoor maintenance team. You will perform hands-on highway upkeep, operate equipment, respond to emergencies, and help keep roads safe and open for the public.

The ideal candidate enjoys physical outdoor work, adheres to safety protocols and MOT requirements, and holds a valid driver's license with the ability to pass background checks. CDL is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work safely in high-traffic environments.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background screening, MVR review, and controlled substance testing.
• CDL A or CDL B license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Picking up debris, litter, and roadway hazards to keep driver safety.
• Installing, repairing, and replacing guardrails, signs, delineators, and other safety devices.
• Repairing potholes and pavement using asphalt and concrete materials.
• Cleaning ditches, culverts, and drainage systems to prevent flooding.
• Removing damaged roadway infrastructure following vehicle impacts.
• Mowing, trimming vegetation, and maintaining highway rights-of-way.
• Setting up traffic control devices, cones, signs, and lane closures.
• Responding to vehicle accidents, severe weather, and road emergencies.
• Assisting with snow and ice removal, including plowing and salting.
