Job summary

Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Specialist 2 for the Brothers area. You will operate heavy and light equipment to keep highways, bridges and surfaces safe and passable.

The role includes weather-related emergency response and routine maintenance tasks on a busy multimodal transportation network. Working conditions involve exposure to noise, heights and variable weather.

Qualifications

• One year of highway maintenance experience or two years related maintenance/landscaping experience.
• Current valid commercial driver's license A (CDL-A) with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days; tanker endorsement required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplows, deicer trucks and other equipment to clear roadways.
• Perform pothole patching, concrete repair and small inlay work.
• Maintain fences, guardrails, barriers and milepost markers; repair drainage systems.
