Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation in The Dalles is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Specialist 2—Bridge Maintenance Specialist. You will operate equipment to maintain and repair wooden, steel, and concrete bridges and culverts, and assist with weather-related emergencies. Qualifications

• One year of highway maintenance experience OR two years in general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction.
• CDL-A with tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire; valid U.S. driver license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair bridges and culverts.
• Construct rigging and scaffolding as needed for access.
• Perform concrete demolition, masonry, steel and woodwork and painting.
• Inspect structures to identify repairs and safety needs.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and snow/ice clearance.
• Maintain drainage systems and perform pothole and patch repairs.
