Job summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians-Mowing Equipment Operators to perform mowing operations in the Orlando, FL area.

You will work as part of a team and must be flexible to work on-call and nights as needed, with tasks including mowing, weed eating, and litter removal. Qualified candidates should have roadway maintenance experience, clean driving record, ability to pass a background check, and capacity to lift up to 50 pounds while complying with

Position Summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Technicians-Mowing Equipment Operators to perform maintenance operations in the Orlando, FL area. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Work as a part of a team performing a variety of tasks related to highway mowing operations. MUST be flexible and able to work on-call and nights when necessary.

Mowing tasks include, but not limited to:

• Mowing operations
  • Small machine, large machine, tractors, 15' mowing decks
• Weed eating
• Litter removal
  • Side by side, trash pickers/reacher

Preferred Experience

• Roadway maintenance experience
• Small machine mowing
• Mowing/weed control
• MOT Certifications
• Clean driving record is essential
• Must pass criminal background check

Qualifications

• Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
• Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
• Carry out simple arithmetic functions
• Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
• Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
• Ability to use smart phone and applications
• Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
• Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; strenuous manual labor may be required
• Ability to operate hand/power tools

Schedule

Full time; must be flexible and willing to work on-call and overtime as needed.

Salary

$16-20/hr depending on equipment knowledge/experience.
