WYDOT in Laramie, WY is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician to help keep highways safe and reliable. This role involves operating and maintaining heavy equipment, performing roadway rehabilitation, and supporting snow and ice operations.

A $2,000 hiring bonus is offered and comprehensive benefits are provided, with Wyoming's no state income tax as an added advantage. Candidates should be prepared for training and certification in CDL, defensive driving, First Aid/CPR, and flagger duties,

Qualifications

• Experience operating highway maintenance equipment
• Ability to set up traffic control devices
• Knowledge of highway safety and signage standards
• Willingness to obtain required certifications (CDL, defensive driving, first aid, flagger)
• Experience with snow/ice removal operations

Responsabilités

• Maintains and operates complex equipment safely and proficiently
• Assists with training other technicians in operation and maintenance of equipment
• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices under limited supervision
• Operates heavy equipment (trucks with augers, aerial lifts, plows, sanders) to maintain roadways
• Oversees rehabilitation of road surfaces and traffic control devices
• Performs general maintenance of highway facilities and may handle water/wastewater tasks as needed
• Completes required state/federal trainings and certs
• Keeps others informed of status and process improvements
• Uses agency computers for training and performance evaluations
