Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation seeks a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) to maintain Ohio roads and support public safety in District 6, Marion. The role requires CDL with tanker endorsement and involves flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repairs, litter pickup, and winter operations.

The selected candidate will join the OCSEA union, work 7:00am-3:30pm, and be placed in the appropriate classification based on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Formal education requirements as per job listing; CDL with tanker endorsement required for HMW1 and HT1.
• Experience or training in basic equipment operation as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and work to make Ohio roads safer.
• Attend training to obtain CDL licensure or hold it already.
• Perform highway maintenance activities: flagging, pothole patching, guardrail repair, litter pickup, mowing.
• Perform snow and ice operations.
