Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) for District 02 in Seneca County, Tiffin. The role covers highway maintenance tasks such as flagging, pothole repair, guardrail work, litter collection, mowing, and annual snow/ice operations.

Work hours are 7:00am–3:30pm in a full-time schedule. Compensation ranges from $21.48 to $22.29 per hour with benefits and pension eligibility after the probation period.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction and in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
• 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in operation of basic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and help make Ohio roads safer.
• Attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already licensed.
• Perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• Perform snow & ice operations.
