Job summary

The State of Ohio Transportation - District 02 in Seneca County, near Tiffin, is seeking a Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1). The role covers road upkeep, flagging and snow operations, with CDL training provided if needed.

The position offers a full-time schedule (7:00am–3:30pm) and benefits such as paid holidays, leave, and a pension plan. Salary is posted as HMW1 $21.48/hr or HT1 $22.29/hr, with agency support for CDL licensure.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic includes addition & subtraction and reading, writing & speaking English.
• Must obtain Class B CDL with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.
• 3 months of training or experience in operation of basic equipment with CDL tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• You will serve the public and work to make the roads in Ohio safer.
• You will attend training to obtain CDL licensure if not already licensed.
• You will perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• You will perform snow and ice operations.
