INDOT's Terre Haute Unit is hiring a Highway Technician to support Indiana highways through maintenance, snow removal, traffic control, and emergency response. Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Pass and submit to a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Work outdoors in varying weather and endure conditions.
• Operate traffic and highway maintenance equipment as needed.
• Follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of inventory control or bookkeeping is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to keep highways clean and safe.
• Move and load supplies and materials; perform winter operations.
• Assist with emergency response, traffic control, and signage.
• Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment and tools.
• Perform miscellaneous labor tasks as assigned.
