Job summary

Minnehaha County in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Team Member to operate a range of equipment and perform maintenance on roads and bridges. The position requires a High school diploma or GED, a valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement, and the ability to work in varying weather, including nights

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Safe driving record and ability to pass background check.
• Pre-employment screening and readiness to work outdoors.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate light to heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators and trucks.
• Perform snow and ice removal and winter maintenance tasks.
• Maintain drainage by servicing culverts and ditches.
• Repair and maintain county roads; patch potholes and resurfacing as needed.
• Install fence wires/posts and control vegetation around rights-of-way.
• Respond to weather and road emergencies, including nights/weekends/holidays.
