Job summary

Minnehaha County Highway Department in Sioux Falls, SD, is hiring a Highway Maintenance Team Member to help keep roads and bridges safe year-round. You will operate a range of equipment, perform snow and ice removal, and assist with drainage and road repairs.

Qualified applicants have a High school diploma or GED, a valid Class B CDL with air brake, and a clean driving record. Pre-employment background is required; strong teamwork and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement required.
• Safe driving record and pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Operate light, medium and heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators and trucks.
• Perform snow and ice removal procedures and winter maintenance.
• Service, repair and replace culverts and ditches for drainage.
• Repair patch potholes and resurface roads to maintain integrity.
• Install and repair fence wires and fence posts as needed.
• Use spray equipment for weed control and vegetation management.
