Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation in Cleveland is hiring for Permanent Highway Maintenance Worker 1 (HMW1) or Highway Technician 1 (HT1) in District 12. Candidates will perform highway maintenance, attend CDL training, and may obtain CDL licensure.

Responsibilities include flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing, and snow & ice operations. Eligible candidates enjoy a strong benefits package and a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Formal arithmetic education including addition/subtraction and reading/writing basic English.
• Must obtain Class B Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement without airbrake restriction.

Responsibilities

• Serve the public and work to make Ohio roads safer.
• Attend CDL training to obtain licensure if not already licensed.
• Perform highway maintenance activities including flagging, pothole patching, repairing guardrails, litter pickup, mowing.
• Perform snow and ice operations.
